More Detailed Cooking Instructions

For original edible birds’ nests:

  1. Please remove one edible bird’s nest from the package carefully and place it into a stew pot or bowl. Add filtered water (not tap water) and soak. The water level depends upon one’s individual preference for the soup’s thickness, but a water level of 3 cm (1.5 in.) above the bird’s nest is recommended. Specifically:
For one Besar 5A+ dry original nest, the soaking time is approximately 8-10 hours, for one Medium 4A dry original nest, the soaking time is approximately 6-8 hours, and or one Small 3A dry original nest, the soaking time is approximately 4-6 hours.

  2. According to individual preference, after soaking, the well-soaked and expanded bird’s nest can be washed to remove any small feathers. This step is optional based upon one’s individual preference. Put the stew pot/bowl into the boiler for stew and steam separately from water, then add water in the boiler, place the a steam/trivet rack, and then place the stew pot on the steam/trivet rack; cover the lid and stew above the water / steam for 20-25 minutes after the water boils, until the bird’s nest becomes transparent and puffy. Then, it is ready to eat with milk, honey, fruits, or other favorite foods based upon individual preference. Please do not use a thick stew boiler with the purple sand material to cook our products.

  3. If you cannot finish it immediately, please keep the left overs in the fridge. In the absence of other foods’ cross-contamination, the cooked nest can be stored in the fridge for 4 to 5 days.

Specific tips:

  1. The time of a general automatic stew pot can be set to 20-25 minutes according to the specific situation of a gas flame or electric pot.

  2. Because of the nests’ different sizes and the varied soaking time, the best cooking time may also be different.

  3. It is recommended that first time edible bird’s nest consumers open the lid of the stew pot every few minutes to check its cooking status.

  4. For the best results when eating edible birds’ nests, we recommend consuming them in the early morning before breakfast or before bed time when the stomach is not full of food or oil. Further, we recommend consuming them regularly for a longer period of time to see the results—some people consume them daily for months, while others may need to eat them daily for a longer time to experience the results. The keys are persistence, consistency, and continuity.

  5. For the first time edible bird’s nest consumer, we recommended eating a small amount in the beginning and then increasing the amount gradually. Several spoonsful of a cooked edible bird’s nest once or twice per day can be a good amount to start. Please note that it is believed that patients with tumors should not consume edible birds’ nests. Those who have diseases or specific concerns should consult their doctors first.
